"To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear." - Buddha
Have you ever struggled with having a mind that was muddled with a confusing fog of conflicting thoughts? Of course. We all have. In this quote, Buddha reminds us that focusing on a strong body will translate into a strong mind. If you've ever been in a rut or depressed and then had a great workout, that event can blast you out of that funk with a flood of endorphins. Working out, coupled with great music? Forget about it...you'll be on cloud nine.
It's important to remember that the mind and body are ONE. So if you treat your body with respect and not like a dumpster then you're treating your mind with respect as well. Vice versa, if you engage in unhealthy, negative thinking or give way to stress all the time then your body will reflect that with bags under your eyes, grey hair, and unhealthy looking skin.
"You are what you eat." is something that can be rephrased as "You are what you consume." That wisdom applies to what you consume in your mind as well. If you flood your ears with positive messages from speakers like Tony Robbins and Les Brown every morning, you'll be in a healthier place mentally than if you blast death metal.
So treat your body right and your mind will follow. Exercise, nutrition, and aromatherapy are all necessary on the path to health.
COACHELLA IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING!
That's right, it's coming...We are just two months away! Last year the festival set an all-time record for festival attendance with 198,000 tickets sold and $84m in revenue. Each year the festival breaks its record from the year before, and this year should be no different.
I hope you have tickets already because it is SOLD OUT. Unsurprisingly.
Why should you be excited this year? For one, check out the Lineup:
Secondly, there is going to be some insane art displays to pose in front of. Just like the space man last year:
HERE'S SOME UPLIFTING NEWS:
A woman in Wareham, Mass won $200 on a scratch lotto ticket, and decided to use it to buy a hotel room for a homeless man on a night with subzero temperatures. Homeless man Glenn Williams had been homeless for three years and was panhandling when the woman spotted him.
Sofia Andrade, the lottery winner and good Samaritan, decided to treat Williams to coffee. She learned that shelters were full and he was planning on toughing out the night in the cold. Williams was already in tears at the generosity of a hot cup of coffee, so Andrade was inspired to get Williams a room for the night.
More extraordinarily, Andrade also posted a GoFundMe page for the man and it went viral: generating money, clothes, and even Valentine's Day cards.
A local barber even came by the hotel room and gave Williams a hair cut!
“There’s a lot of good people in this world,” said Williams. “I’m overwhelmed with all the help, and I just want to thank everybody.”
