7 Up & Coming Artists You Need to Listen to ASAP

Music discovery, in our opinion, is the most exciting free thing to exist on the planet.  Every day there are hundreds of insanely talented up and coming artists putting out amazing songs that you haven't even heard yet. With this in mind, we decided to make a comprehensive list of some of the best up & coming artists in the game.

  1. BROCKHAMPTON

The Texas-born 14 member boy band BROCKHAMPTON is redefining the rap scene with each fierce track they drop. Formed in 2015 on online forums including Kanye West’s KanyeToThe, BROCKHAMPTON calls itself “the internet’s first boy band.”  The band released its first album in 2016 titled “ALL-AMERICAN TRASH,” and have since released three more albums titled “SATURATION,” “SATURATION II”, and “SATURATION III.” The music videos that accompany their songs are equal parts trippy, funny, and groundbreaking, with a handful of them garnering millions of views. Additionally, BROCKHAMPTON stars in Viceland’s video series “American Boyband.”

  2. Youngr

Youngr continues to impress with his awesome songs. Not only does he make all of his own sick beats, he sings on them too! His album “This is Not an Album” was released just this year and has already garnered millions of streams, the most popular being “Out of My System” at 29 million on Spotify alone. Currently, he is supporting Matoma on his massive international One in a Million Tour.

  3. Yaeji

Born in Korea and now based out of NYC, Yaeji is absolutely killing the game. Her house sound is complemented by her own vocals in most of her songs, which has earned support from Claude VonStroke, Sofi Tukker, Alison Wonderland, Oliver Heldens, The Chainsmokers, and more. Her track “Drink I’m Sippin On” was named Best New Track by Pitchfork, and has racked up over 8 million streams collectively. Yaeji is definitely an artist to watch.

  4. Fluencee

Los Angeles based producer Fluencee is quickly putting himself on the map. Just last year he released his original track “Better” with AJ Salvatore and Bri Tolani, which rapidly cracked the Spotify United States Viral 50 playlist at number 26. Additionally, Fluencee took it to another level when he threw down at EDC Orlando 2017. Most recently, he dropped an exhilarating remix of Odesza’s “Across the Room.” Look out for more feel-good jams from Fluencee.

  5. HVDES

Based out of Los Angeles, producer HVDES makes beats as dark as her name implies. An Icon Collective alum, she specializes in sound design and quality. Her most recent release, a remix of Sleepwalker’s “AWAY,” has already garnered support from Dr. Fresch and NGHTMRE and SLANDER.

  6. Oliver Tree

Based in LA, artist Oliver Tree is bringing a unique sound to the game. Best known for his vocal stylings on Getter’s OWSLA track “Forget It” and Whethan’s “When I’m Down,” Oliver Tree is equal parts entertaining and talented. He recently released his debut six-track EP titled Alien Boy, with each song already amassing hundreds of thousands of streams. We’re excited to see more from Oliver Tree.

  7. REGN

With her smooth vocals and edgy aesthetic, Chicago native REGN is making waves in the music scene. She released her debut single “WATR” on Moving Castle just last year. Already, the blissful tune has racked up over 211K streams collectively. More recently, she sang on Felix Cartal’s track “Runaway,” which acts as the first single off his forthcoming debut LP. Things are looking up for rising star REGN.

Check out these artists ASAP, their music is too good to wait! Plus, they may be playing soon near you. These 7 rising artists each bring something unique to the table, from rap to dubstep to future bass and more. We can't wait to hear more from them, and we certainly can't wait to add more talent to this list.
